Brush is set up to help all skill levels replicate art and creative projects with a step-by-step instruction from our experienced owner and instructor. You'd be amazed what you can do with a brush and a little courage!
At this time we are a mobile Paint and Craft studio only, so you can set up your party/event at a place that allows you to drink and eat whatever you want! Many local businesses will allow you to host an event with them! Some venues in the Ames area to check into would be places like, The Octagon, Riemen Gardens, local Breweries and Wineries, local Pubs, etc... We also, love, love, love to help you with your team building events as well!! You provide the tables, chairs, and your friends and Brush will provide the rest!
Being a mobile company at this time, Brush will arrive 1 hour before your scheduled event to set up shop so we can be sure to begin your event at the time you requested! (We will also need about 30-40 mins after the event ends to clean up and pack up)
So, be sure to have your guests arrive whenever you feel is a good time, but usually about 10 mins before the event starts is great!
Events typically last for 2 hours, but can vary (shorter or longer) depending on the piece or project being taught at the event. We can let you know how long your event should take when you book it.

We always try to seat friends and parties together…just be sure to let us know when making your reservation and we will try our best to make the appropriate seating arrangements. When attending a public event, be sure to arrive about 15 mins early to help find your places as well!
For Jr. Brush events, all children over 3 years of age are welcome depending on the venue chosen for the event. For ages 3-6, the child must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. For evening events after 6 pm, youth aged 14+ are welcome to attend with a parent/adult/guardian.
Most canvas events range from $28-38. For craft events, we typically charge $45-$65 depending on the complexity of the project. Please visit our calendar (www.brushames.com/calendar) for additional details on each event.
We provide canvases, materials, paint, brushes/sponges, easels, wood, nails, string, stencils and aprons. You’ll go home with a completed painting & a boat-load of good times!
Most anything is fine, but its encouraged that you wear paint-friendly clothes. We are typically painting with acrylic paints; paint will get on your hands, so keep that in mind. Leave expensive purses and jackets at home as we would hate for an accident to happen. Brush is not responsible for any damage caused to personal property by materials used to create each project.
We will try to get schedules published as soon as we can, but being a mobile company at this time, we will update the calendar as new event times and places are available.
Please call or text us and we will let you know if there is space available for you and your party, 515-509-2265. Most of the times, we have room and walk-ins are welcome with payment at the door (cash or credit accepted) as long as the event is open to the public.
To sign up online for an event, click the “register” link for the event you’d like to attend. Fill in the attendee information. If you are registering for more than one attendee, click the “Add more Attendees” link to add info for additional attendees. When finished, click submit.
*Please note, as per CDC recommendations, if you are sick (including colds) or have been around others who are sick when the event day rolls around please DO NOT come to the event, I will issue refunds or rainchecks should illness be an issue as long as you communicate with me. If you come to the event and are sick in any way we will have to ask you to leave.*
We will make our best effort to contact everyone on the list (via email and a post to our Facebook page) if we decide to postpone an event due to a weather-related emergency. Once the weather calms down, we will reschedule the event. If the new date doesn't work for you, let us know and we will issue a Raincheck Gift Card for an event of your choice.
We process all major Credit/Debit card payments through Square. Cash, Local Checks(with drivers license number and telephone number on them) and gift cards prior to January 1, 2020 are accepted day of events.
Raincheck Gift Cards will be accepted going forward from January 1, 2020.
Anyone can call us at 515-509-2265 to register over the phone and we will assist them in the sign up process.
If you cancel 48 hours before the day of the event or simply fail to show, you will be charged for the event because we will be unable to fill your spot at the last minute. As long as you cancel prior to 48 hours before the scheduled event time, you will be provided a full refund.
At this time we are no longer offering traditional gift certificates, we hope to be able to offer these again in the future.
We will still be accepting previously purchased GC's prior to January 1, 2020.
We will issue Raincheck GC's if you have already made a reservation, have paid for your event and it gets rescheduled for some reason and you are unable to attend. Or if you cancel your reservation 72 hours before the event you may receive a refund.
Simply go to www.brushames.com/calendar to find the event of your choice. Once you've chosen the event that works best for you, click on the event to register, enter your personal information, and add the gift certificate code in the "Enter voucher code" spot. Hit "submit". It's that easy :).
